The Omega Sp2 Self-propelling Deluxe Wheelchair is a much better choice than most basic wheelchair models. Adjustable/removable footrests can be used to support those who cannot control their legs due to coordination issues, range of motion limitations, and general difficulty. The large pneumatic tires are durable and low-maintenance, making them great on a variety of terrains. Small but solid front tires offer more precise steering for corners and other tight spaces. Handlebars also allow caregivers and others to assist in propelling this wheelchair if needed, however, these are not very padded and not ideal for use over an extended period of time. Individuals with back issues or trunk weakness will benefit from the mid-back support and can add pillows or additional cushions to facilitate their posture and comfort. These footrests can also be removed to allow individuals additional assistance by propelling the wheelchair with their feet. Anti-tippers further enhance the safety of this chair. Removable armrests can either temporarily be taken off to facilitate the process of individuals transferring on and off the wheelchair, or permanently removed to encourage more trunk control and core strength.
