This supportive wheelchair-style chair is ideal for someone who needs more full-time seating options. Firm cushioning will relieve pressure on the skin and joints, while rugged, durable tires will take you across even and bumpy surfaces alike. Rather than a smaller, traditional footrest, there is a single, adjustable bar that allows individuals to keep their feet safely out of the way while transferring, moving, and repositioning. Firm side plates below armrests offer the lateral support that individuals with poor trunk strength need. A lot of underlying mechanisms make this a more durable and sophisticated power chair for an individual who needs mobility assistance over long periods of time but has the upper body coordination to control their motion.

The Pride R40 is an outdoor power chair built for rugged terrain. The frame has a ground clearance of just over 7 cm, and the speed range goes up to 6 km/hour. The base comes with four sturdy wheels and anti-tippers, which is very beneficial for rough terrain and inclines. The seat comes equipped with a power tilt, which is perfect for pressure-relief with prolonged sitting and readjusting sitting posture to prevent spinal discomfort. The R40 also comes with a tight turning radius, perfect for tight corners on the trails but also in bathrooms and narrow hallways.
